<RestaurantDetails>The Farm Restaurant - 3 Dawson Street, City Centre South - 01 671 8654 - hello@thefarmfood.ie - 11.00 - 23.00 Sun-Thurs, 11.00 - 0.00 Fri-Sat. - The Farm restaurant is located in the centre of Dublin adjacent to Trinity College in 3 Dawson Street, which runs parallel with Grafton Street.
The Farm is owned and operated by an Irish family who have been involved in the hospitality industry in Dublin for 40 years, together with their General Manager Tony Kelly
And head chef Nick Gonta.
The decision to open the Farm in 2007 was three years in the making and came about by the obvious requirement by the public for better, healthier, and traceable fresh and even in some cases Organic food.
Having thought about this and discussed it at length for what seemed like an eternity it was decided that the Farm concept would become a reality, with our mission statement as
“Affordable, tasty, homemade and locally sourced. As much organic and or free range as we can, healthy vegetables and fresh herbs”.
This mission statement has served us well and the Farm has been warmly embraced by locals and visitors alike.
We have an extensive lunch and dinner menu, daily specials and an Early Bird menu Sunday—Friday each week.
Much of our produce comes from organically certified Irish producers, whose certification hangs on the wall of the Farm.
We spend much time developing our menus changing them frequently to ensure that we always have a nice or different dish to offer our many regular customers.
The Farm also has a children’s menu, developed using the opinions of “consultant” children of friends and family to ensure that we got it right.
The result being that we serve Organic chicken nuggets, organic pasta and even an organic 5oz Sirloin steak to our quite discerning young ladies and gentlemen when they visit.
Here at the Farm we serve a range of organic wines, beer, organic soft drinks, organic tea and organic fair trade coffee. Even our milk is organic!
The Farm is OPEN seven days a week serving a full menu throughout the day from 12 noon to 11oo pm.
Come in and see us when you can, you will be made feel very welcome - Went for a late lunch to The farm on Bank Holiday Monday with my husband. I have to say we were very impressed with the restaurant. I'm a bit of a foodie and I am fussy about my food and like to know it has been cared for. No concerns with the farm on this count.
The baby back ribs are really good, my husband picked them Dry :) For starters I had the Hummus. It was good but not the best i have had, saying that it was fresh and tasty and I would probably put it down to taste preference. For mains we had Hake and Sea Bass, both were cooked beautifully and the accompaning sauce was delicious, so fresh and light. For our sides both the pan fried potatoes and hand cut chips were really good. We followed it all with a shared rhubarb crumble and fought over the last spoonful. washed down with two glasses of lovely french wine. I was impressed by the almost immaculate service, at 75€ in my opinion this meal was a steal. Highly recommended.</RestaurantDetails>

<comment>Ate here yesterday with my vegeterian sister. The food was delicious. I had beef and kidney pie. The meat was vey tender and very tasty. I'm really fussy about beef and there wasn't a bit of grizzle to be seen. My sister had the potato cakes and with a side of veg. She had no complaints and was delighted that there was such a good choice for vegetarians. It was a bit expensive but I really don't mind paying a few quid more if the food is good quality or organic. </comment>

<comment>was in here last thursday for dinner after work. had the ribs as a starter - they were ok. my friend has chicken wings - he loved them but they were too spicy for me. for mains i had the fish pie....OMG DIVINE!!!!! its was just amazing.....so tasty...the potato on top of the fish was the nicest i've ever tasted - i actually can't wait to go back and get it again it was that good - it was a huge portion too and i thought no way would i be able to eat all that - i did! my friend had the burger with bacon and cheese - looked good and he seemed to enjoy it. we decided to share apple pie for dessert - as full as we were there's always room for dessert! gorgeous pie - not like most where the pastry is really thing - there was LOADS of apple in it...yum yum! service was perfect on the night too - the manager there is so nice! my only complaints are that the water was warm - really should have ice in it. also the cream that came with the pie was fake cream - can't stand fake cream - really should be the real stuff with apple pie - it did come with lovely fresh strawberries though!</comment>
<response>Thank you for taking the trouble to review The Farm restaurant and for your many kind words.

I am sorry that you did not like the whipped cream with the apple pie. I would however like to absolutely assure you that it was not “fake” cream. I would not have fake cream in my restaurant and we have no need for it.Our organic milk and cream is delivered fresh every day. I would be delighted to even show you the delivery dockets.

I do hope you will return again soon and please feel free to ask for myself, Desmond, or the manager and we would be delighted to discuss this small but really important point with you. In the meantime thank you again for visiting The Farm.

<comment>I went to the Farm with a group of friends. We had Kir Royals to start with out in the terrace while waiting for the rest to join us. When we moved inside to our table. Two of the group were late joining us and they didnt put us under pressure to order as the early bird was available all evening. The chicken were lovely - a nice from them. Everybody was happy with their choices - ot a lot of room left for desserts. Nice wines at good prices. Will def return.</comment>

<comment>Excellent food, really good quality and portions. Don't let the name put you off the decor is nice and staff are friendly. Two of us visited this restaurant for lunch, friend had chicken on the run dish and I had the spanish omelette. Both came with either salad or fries. Couldn't fault either dish and the omelette was really hot and filling. We shared a complimentary homemade ice cream dessert using a menupages voucher.
Highly recommend.</comment>

<comment>I went to the Farm with two friends for the first time yesterday evening, and I was really impressed! The service was excellent-really pleasnt outgoing staff, who did their best to make us feel welcome!

The menus are excellent-tons of choice. We had a vegetarian in our group as well, and she was really well catered for. I had hummus with pitta for starters, followed by the duck main course. Hummus had a great consistency, and the duck was cooked really well, and served with a great sauce (think it was a champagne sauce).

Three early birds and three glasses of wine came to just over €80-which for the quality of food and service was excellent.

My only comment would be the overall atmosphere and restaurant design seems to have a bit of a disconnect with the food. The atmosphere is a bit clinical, whereby the food has a really nourishing quality to it. Overall, highly recommended and well worth a visit</comment>

<comment>The Farm is a good restaurant, in general. It has a bit of a funky atmosphere with ambient lighting that changes color periodically, but if you don't like it it's something that can be ignored.

I went for an early bird and as a vegetarian I was pleased to see that they had several veg choices for each course of the early bird menu.

The prices are a bit high, but the food is absolutely first rate, so one doesn't mind paying them. Everyone in my party was pleased with his or her meal.</comment>

<comment>I absolutely love the food and atmosphere here. Being a vegetarian I'm limited to where I can go. After a friend recommended The Farm I tried it and loved it and have been going a couple of times a month since November. They offer a wide range of tasty organic food, and they host a great selection of vegetarian meals too.

There's a great welcome from the staff members each time we visit and the atmoshpere is warm and friendly. I have never had a bad reception here and always made feel welcome.

The food is excellent. A differnet choice each time we go there - there's the regular options sure, but I see a different veggie option everytime I visit and this means a lot to someone who would have normally had to settle with pasta in other non-veggie restaurants.
Their asian green salad is delicious and I am just thinking about when I'll be ordering my next one! Also their "no burger burger" is generous in size and taste!

Tasty organic produce served by professional friendly staff in a warm welcoming atmosphere - overall excellent value for money.</comment>

Friendly welcome and offerd a hoice of tables.Everything went well until the dessert for which we had a very long wait. Would not have been a problem had we not been going on to the theatre. However the matter was dealt with very proffesionaly by the friendly staff and we were given discount for the inconvenience. Great food, and full marks for customer service.</comment>
